The following is a list of the most frequently asked questions that we have received. We have responsed to those questions for your convenience.

Q.    How can Austin Medi-Byte improve my cash flow?
A.     In addition to providing efficient, effective and professional billing services, we offer personal attention to your accounts by
challenging rejected claims and working accounts to reduce your accounts receivable. We eliminate the overhead expense
associated with in-house insurance billing such as salaries, vacations, sickness, training, turnover, office space, computer
hardware and software, and other operational necessities.

Q.    Do I need a computer or any other equipment to file electronically?
A.     No. We provide everything necessary to file claims electronically.  Once initial paperwork is set up with government agencies
and the clearinghouse, we take care of all your filing needs.

Q.    Would it be more cost effective to file electronic claims in-house instead of using a billing service?
A.     No.   Effective medical billing is a much more detail oriented specialty then most in-house billers realize. As an example, there are
many trade secrets that can be applied to most situations that will result in operational saving and consistency in payments.
Keeping up-to-date with insurance and governmental agencies can be extremely time consuming to your operation. We
understand the importance of the details that insurance companies need for proper payment. We stay informed of code changes,
and we use our contacts with the carriers and insurance representatives to stay abreast of any internal changes that may impact
or result in reduced payments or even nonpayments for your practice. We substantially reduce your operation overhead (hardware,
software, support and clearinghouse fees, office space, salary and benefit costs are eliminated). And, we do all of the above at a
small fraction of what it would cost your practice to perform the same tasks.  

 
Q.     How long does it take to receive reimbursement?
A.     The average time to collect on electronic reimbursement is between 9 to 21 days.

Q.    Does Austin Medi-Byte offer long distance consulting service?
A.    Yes we can. Out of town client services are initially handled through phone, fax and emails.  Should onsite visits be requested, fees
will be negotiated in advance.


Q.    How much does our service cost?
A.     We charge a percentage based on practice receipts.  We work harder to collect your money since we don’t get paid until you do.
 Our fees are competitively priced and vary based on the size of your practice, and the scope of services provided.  Since most
practices differ in the services required to meet individual needs, our fee will vary from client to client. 


Q.    Does AMB charge annual renewal fees?
A.     No. We do not have any licensing fees or any other ongoing charges. If your practice changes or relocates, we are available to
offer extended services to assist in the transition, which may include a fee.  These rates would be negotiated in advance.

Q.    Where do patients call with questions about their bills?
A.     Austin Medi-Byte receives all inquiries from your patients and insurance carriers.  We free up your staff so they can focus on your
patients.
